  Peter Shipanoff

             Raised in St. Albert, Alberta, Peter matriculated from Paul Kane High School. Thereafter, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Philosophy with First-Class Honours standing at the University of Alberta. During his undergraduate program, Peter was afforded the opportunity of studying jurisprudence (legal philosophy) under the tutelage of the eminent legal philosopher Dr. R.A.. Shiner. Peterfs love of philosophy generally, and of legal philosophy specifically, endures and is manifested in his approach to the interpretation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the preservation of constitutional rights.
            Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, Peter studied law at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. He focused his attention on the area of criminal law and litigation and supplemented his intellectual interest with practical application by volunteering as a member of Student Legal Services.
            Following law school, Peter has dedicated himself to the practice of criminal law. He has been a member of the Alberta Criminal Trial Lawyersf Association since admission to the bar and is a member of the British Columbia Trial Lawyersf Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
            In addition, Peter is recognized by the United States Department of Transportation as a qualified technician for the Intoxilyzer 5000C | the instrument used by police forces across Canada to measure the concentration of alcohol in the human body.
            Through the synthesis of the theoretical and the practical, Peter has succeeded in every level of the court system in Alberta as well as the provincial courts of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the North-West Territories.
